1.       The ideology I want to challenge Gender stereo types.

2.       The reasoning I want to challenge this is because I have a lot of background in this because the past two assignments I have done was about the LGBTQ. I also have a gay uncle that can be used to my benefit.

3.       The audiences I can use are the LGBTQ community, the older community which is very against this and our generation. I would like to use these audiences to reach out to the first-hand people being the LGTBQ. The older Generation is very proper and vey against this. And the last audience is our generation because it is normal in contrast to the older community. With doing these 3 audiences I can get the first-hand perspective as a member of the LGTBQ community and the 2 different ways of viewing them and how time has helped this change.

Jaya Reflection IG

The Instagram reflection project was a tad bit weird in my opinion. Stalking and making inferences based on a picture online can be very bad, as we have seen in class. Making inferences without knowing the person can cause them to get really upset and wrong impressions. I hope I did not offend Jaya in anyway. But I am very curios to see how I did in relation to  the reality of the picture she posted. Overall Jaya did pretty well in my opinion.

While reviewing Jaya’s depiction of my Instagram posts she mostly hit the nail on the head. My summer consisted of spending time with my friends as well as playing baseball, hanging with family and working. While Jaya only said spending the last couple of months before college hanging out with my high school friends, that’s what most nights consisted of. I wanted to cherish all the last moments of summer with everyone who made my high school experience great. Not seeing my close friends for months after this summer was definitely a good reason to spend ample time with them. The first picture was at a graduation party, what Jaya expected. There was graduation parties mostly every weekend.  The other was taken at the after prom trip to the beach. This was our grades last hoorah as a whole. After prom we all drove down and stayed at wildwood beach in a hotel. Jaya’s ideology was summertime, graduation season, high school ending and college begin. With all these Jaya concluded it was my last high school summer and who else to spend it with than my friends. Although Jaya categorized me as a “ladies man” I think other classmates may not get the right view of me from the small sample size of my Instagram. I am not all about partying and friends I am passionate about my family and baseball. Most of my Instagram pictures include family, friends and baseball. Id like to believe if Jaya knew me on a personal level she would of viewed these post differently. Although she did catch my drift on these two post specifically.

Fantasy Football

Ethos: The author of this commercial is attempting to tell fantasy football owners their season is not over yet. Although they may have lost in there league they can still win a trip to the super bowl. In large letter it says “Play the fantasy playoff challenge.” Than the next screen explains that this challenge is free and the winner will get a trip to the Super Bowl. The text is supposed to intrigue people to play this challenge. I think this is very effective on the target audience, because it is for mostly the male football fans. This is very relatable to because all fantasy football owners have been on the losing end one time or another.

Logos: The author does a great job being relatable and persuading. The audience can connect to the feeling of the actors being upset that their fantasy football team had a bad year. Thus this commercial is giving them another chance to win big. The words “Its free,” pop up on the screen alone trying to catch their attention. The commercial than ends with a chance to win tickets to the Super Bowl. This is very effective because all the target audience would enjoy the prize.

Pathos: The feeling that was caught by the audience was a feeling of disappointment. Going team by team showing the bad record and the emotions of the owner explain it all. The crying, head shaking, yelling and of course the song choice. The song in the background was “bad day,” by Daniel Powter. A slow song with mostly piano being used, with the words “Cause you had a bad day…” Every fantasy owner has had a season like this and had a very similar feeling to those in the commercial. I think the target audience is affected by this greatly and relived that there is another shot. Although you may have come in last for your fantasy league, you can be off to the Super Bowl. I don’t know how many other owners in that league can say that.
